Art

Georgie is interested in the accidental and what emerges to create a form or image to reveal subconscious thoughts and processes. In her artwork she uses media that enables her to explore and communicate subconscious thoughts, imagery and processes making them conscious.  She often uses photography to amplify the found images. She is interested in how we can then start to make sense of our experiences and responses through creativity and art making. She draws on a variety of creative approaches to line drawing including Winnicott’s squiggle drawings.

Georgie developed her techniques and experience of art through arts in health charity Art Shape. She completed her first commission for the RNIB centre Coventry and exhibited at the Wilson Museum and Gallery, Cheltenham in 2014 through her involvement as a volunteer on the Art Shape Art Bridge program.  Whilst completing her MA in Art Psychotherapy Georgie explored the relationship between creativity, creative processes and mental health as well as looking at how to work with nature and natural objects.
