Art Therapy & EMDR

“It is the small moments, relationships and processes of living that enrich our lives”

I offer Art Psychotherapy and EMDR (adults) online and in person in the Cotswolds and Oxfordshire. I have a lived understanding, training and experience in neurodiversity. I also work on a sessional basis for ProblemShared on their specialist ND Talk Therapy Pathway.

I discovered Art Psychotherapy through my own lived experience and engagement with Arts in Health. . Fun fact.. I have no formal art training but I do enjoy using creativity as a reflective process!

“Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses art media as its primary mode of expression and communication. . BAAT 2020

There is no need to be ‘good at art’.  Art Therapy is non-judgmental, all we ask is you come with a willingness to explore. Art Therapists do not diagnose you or judge your art work.

EMDR is a form of psychotherapy that enables people to heal from symptoms of emotional distress which are often a result of disturbing life experiences. EMDR or eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing is an eight-phase treatment. As part of the treatment eye movements (or other bilateral stimulation) are used during processing sessions

EMDR-Art Therapy uses both the process of art psychotherapy and EMDR.

“Art Therapy in a group opened up new doors, enabling me to access different channels of communication and interaction with others that I wouldn’t have considered before. It brought an end to my isolation, I felt better about myself.” Anon
